Black Women Career Hub

Black Women Career Hub seeks to support new immigrant black women and racialized/discriminated women in making a successful professional career in Alberta. This program leads Black women in specific industries through different processes.

The goal of the program is to train and inspire Black entrepreneurs by enabling them to learn from their peers who recognize the unique challenges they face as Black business owners.

BCB in Action has developed a mentoring program that pairs mentors and mentees from different industries.

Employment Ready Program

BCW has an opportunity to boldly address Black women’s access to professional advancement. The program provides participants with the skills, knowledge, attitudes, and experience required for long-term, stable employment.

Participants of the Employment Ready Program will complete the program with an inventory of industries they are interested in:

  • Where and how to look for job opportunities

  • Update your resume and cover letter

  • Gain interview skills and experience

Career Advancement for Black Women

BCW in Action’s Promote HER program offers industry-specific informational sessions in person and virtually, and hosts career-related workshops to help black women entrepreneurs advance their business efforts.

This program offers registrants insights and advice from industry experts and business leaders, as well as an opportunity to meet and network with other local black business owners.
